It’s not every day that you get to see an eclipse like so many saw yesterday. Some of the pictures were pretty incredible. Many said “It went dark”, “You could see the stars”, “Street lights came on”, “It was like night”, “The birds stopped chirping”, and so many more comments.
So for all the ugliness leading up to yesterday, the comments about those who were gathering to watch the eclipse, and many gathering to pray, I’d say it turned out pretty well. Here is what I noticed and I sure hope others did as well. People from all over the country were gathering together. Total strangers gathered in parks, in neighborhoods, families with their children, grandparents, you name it, people were gathered together everywhere. Even in places where there wasn’t “totality”, like here in SW Florida. Everyone in our office stepped outside together to take a look, (and ya it was cool). The point here, we were all together.
In all the pictures and the videos posted everywhere, everyone was looking up, um, looking up to Heaven you might even say. I also noticed how happy everyone was, the smiles and laughter everywhere. They all shared something in common, watching a pretty amazing event that was orchestrated by Father. I do believe there was more going on here than the sun going dark for a few minutes. He brought His children together in so many ways yesterday. Together, through the darkness to the light.
I do believe that Father was at work yesterday, in the event of the eclipse itself, but more importantly in His bringing together of His children. He showed us just how easy it is. Friends, we are more alike than we are different. Together we can help each other through whatever darkness, “eclipses” that may come in our lives. We can help each other into the brightness that God’s love gives us.
Have an awesome day everyone. Oh and special thanks to my friend Liz Brunson for just one of the awesome pictures of the totality yesterday, the cover of today’s little blog.
Ephesians 5:8
For at one time, you were darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light.
