You all know that there are times when I draw a blank on what to write in this little blog. I’ve shared before that many times, actually more than many times, I don’t have a clue what to write. What I realized this morning is that there are days when I try too hard. There are days when I feel like I need to say more than I do.

This morning Father timed a reminder to me of the gifts that are right in from of me. I realized that as I had my little chat with Him as I do each morning, I prayed for guidance, I prayed for my family, the usual things. But…it wasn’t until I sat down here at a blank screen that I realized, I never even said thank you for the gifts that He gives. I skipped right over that in my prayers.

There are so many gifts in this life, the gift of our family of course, but the gift of friends, the gift of His most beautiful creation, the gift of people who lend a hand whenever asked, the gift of a sunrise or sunset. We are blessed in this life to have so many gifts, and many times we overlook what is right in front of us.

This morning I was fortunate to have Father show me those gifts in a subtle yet powerful way. It was such a clear message that it made me stop staring at this blank screen and lift a prayer of thanks. I don’t do this enough, give thanks for the gifts in my life I mean. I need to do more of this for sure.

So friends, as you begin your day, I just encourage you to do the same. Take a moment and give thanks for the gifts that are right in front of you. Let Father know that you realize the gifts that He provides. Let Him know that you are thankful.
