Lately, I’ve been praying about some things that I truly have no control over. Isn’t that when challenges seem the greatest when we have no control over them? We want to just fix things, we want to just make things better, but at the end of the day, we really do have to just give things to Father and know that His plan is just that, His plan.
I think the hardest part of giving things to God is wondering if He hears our prayers. Is He listening to the prayers we lift to Him? Of course, I know the answer to that, Father always hears our prayers. He may not answer them in the way we want Him to, or in the timeframe we want Him to, but He always hears our prayers. Just a side note…Father hears more than just our prayers, He hears everything that happens in our lives, all words from our mouths, and even the thoughts in our minds. Kind of scary I know, but, hey, He is God and He pretty much knows it all.
On our side though, are we hearing the answer, or even listening to the answer to our prayers when it comes. There is a difference between the two, listening and hearing. Truly listening gives us a deeper understanding of what we’ve heard. We have to stop and give full attention to what we hear, and let our brain process it. So many times in this world we hear something and are on to the next task only to realize we didn’t truly understand what was said. We didn’t listen, we just heard.
So when Father answers prayers, we have to truly be listening. We have to let our brains and our hearts process it. Even if the answer that comes is not what we want to hear.
Friends, whatever challenges we face in this life, we have to keep lifting our prayers to Father. He is listening. Then we have to make sure that we are truly listening for the answer, even if it’s not the answer we want to hear. Listen deeply to understand what He wants from us. He alone knows the outcome of the challenges we face, however, if we listen to His guidance, we’ll face that outcome together with Him.
Have a good day friends, and remember God is truly always with us 🙂 .
p.s. Big thanks to my friend Joey Waves for the cover of today’s little blog!
Psalm 116:1-2
I love the Lord, because he has heard my voice and my pleas for mercy. Because he inclined his ear to me, therefore I will call on him as long as I live.
