Last week, a friend of mine got terrible news about her mother-in-law. She had a stroke and the outlook was not good. We all watched for updates as she was in ICU and unresponsive. The news the doctors gave was she probably would not recover. If you’ve ever lost a loved one, you dread those words, the admission that the doctors feel they can do no more. My friend and her husband took to social media asking for continued prayers, and as is always the case, they flooded in.
Last night they posted an update. The doctors had told them last week that their mom would not recover, her condition was too grave, probably too much damage to her brain, she was in pain, would have paralysis, etc. Well, Father had other plans. The very next day, she opened her eyes and was able to speak. The following day, she was sitting up in bed and could feed herself, and walk to the bathroom with assistance. Needless to say, the doctors and nurses are amazed and are referring to her as a walking miracle. She will spend a little time in a rehabilitation center to regain her strength.
How often do we put so much trust in doctors first? We rely on them to fix the issue before even kneeling to talk with Father. Please don’t misunderstand, I’m so grateful to all of the doctors and nurses out there who give so much to heal and take care of people. My father-in-law and brother-in-law were both doctors and some of my best friends are nurses. They are amazing! My point here is not to trash doctors, my point is that our trust first and foremost must always be in Father. The power of prayer, prayer for complete healing, it’s a healing power like no other. We’ve seen it in action, even here in this little blog. I come here to ask for prayers and you lift them with me. Father heals.
I wish that, instead of telling this family their mother would not make it, the doctors and nurses had told them to pray for healing because it was out of their hands. I realize that my friend and her husband were doing that, but my goodness how much stronger they would have been if the hospital team had reinforced their prayers.
Friends, I do give thanks to those who dedicate their lives to healing and taking care of others, they are such special people. We also need to recognize that their gifts are given to them by Father. We should lift these medical professionals in prayer as they work to heal loved ones. He will give them the strength and the guidance to do the work they love.
Our trust needs to be 100% with Father first. Going to Him in prayer first and often, praying for healing and restoration, well, that is where the miracles happen.
We don’t know the plans that Father has for us, but I’m pretty confident, most of the time, He has other plans than we do. Trust in Him.
I’d like to also ask for some prayer today friends. A cousin of mine is also in the hospital. Please lift prayers for complete and total healing for Corey. As I’ve said before, I just feel when many are praying for the same thing, the volume is even louder in Heaven 🙂 .
Thanks so much, everyone, and thank you Father for your incredible gift of healing.

O Lord my God, I cried to you for help, and you have healed me.
