Each day I make time when I wake up and right before I go to bed to have a chat with Father. I thank him for the gifts of the day, ask him for guidance as I begin the day, and lift some prayers for others who are in need. It really is a regrounding for me, and these times have come to be the most special times of the day.
If you’ve been reading this little blog for long you also know that there are mornings when I ask Father what message I can share here. Most of the time I will get an answer, this morning was one of those times. As I started my chat, I simply said, “Father I need help with the little blog this morning. What message would you like me to share?”. Instantly, from across our lake, a spoonbill, (a Florida bird), put out his call. I openly laughed and said, “Ok then, I guess you are here”. What I heard right after was, “Sit with Me”. I could feel Father asking for time, for me to just be there with Him. So I did just that.
I think the message today friends is very simple, carve out the time to be with God each day. I find it to be the most meaningful when I first wake up and right before I go to bed. I sit on my lanai where it’s quiet and most often the moon is shining above. If I’m traveling I find a little space where I can look outside or even be outside. I just try to find a place to myself and just sit with Him. If for whatever reason I miss one of these times, I feel it. Something is openly missing from the day, so it is very rare that I don’t spend this special time with Father.
I just encourage you to find that special time to sit with God. Talk with Him, share your fears, your joy, your anger, your pain, be vulnerable and let Him in. There is no greater love than the unconditional love He has for us, and He wants to share it with us if we only let Him in.
Have a wonderful day my friends, thanks as always for being here π .
p.s. Thanks to my friend Joey Waves for the beautiful cover of today’s little blog!
Mark 1:35
And rising very early in the morning, while it was still dark, he departed and went out to a desolate place, and there he prayed.
