The Lights

Last night, or should I say early this morning much of our country saw what was perhaps a once-in-a-lifetime sight, the Aurora Borealis, also known as the Northern Lights. Even way down here in SW Florida, there are pictures of the most dazzling pink and purple sky at midnight. In other pictures I’ve seen from friends from TN to MN and MT, the lights were incredible.

As I looked at all the pictures this morning I couldn’t help but think of the incredible gift Father gave everyone last night. For most of us, we will probably never again in this lifetime have the opportunity to see the Northern Lights, especially those of us in SW FL 🙂 . The most beautiful lights in the middle of darkness.

Father gives us the gift of light through the darkness that sometimes occurs in our lives. He is always there to bring us through, to show us the goodness that can come. We live through weather events, natural disasters, sickness and loss. We come together and support, lift and love, and we get through to the other side. We may be a little wearied, but we are stronger and the light is a little brighter.

Friends, I hope you were able to see the most beautiful gift of the Aurora last night. And…I hope you know that Father’s light shines brightly every day for us.

Have a great day everyone 🙂 .

p.s. Thanks so much to my friend Sharon Julian for the most awesome sunset from New Zealand, the header of today’s little blog 🙂 .

John 8:12
Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life”.
