Some Gave All

Today we remember those who have dedicated their lives to protecting this nation and the freedoms we all enjoy. In the beginning, many had no choice, however, most did it willingly, and some paid the ultimate price in doing so.

I offer this prayer that we lifted yesterday at church to all those who have and continue to serve, and I say Thank You from the bottom of my heart.

Almighty God, we remember before you with grateful hearts the men and women of our country who ventured much for the liberties we now enjoy and especially for those who have died in the service of our country. Grant them the light of your presence. And give, O Lord, to the people of our country a zeal for justice and the strength of forbearance, that we may use our liberty in accordance with your gracious will; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

I also offer a special thanks to a friend who gave his life protecting this nation. Tommy, you will never be forgotten. I shared his story in a previous little blog here.

John 15:13
Greater love has no man than this, that he lay down his life for his friends.
