One of my least favorite chores at home is to change the sheets on the bed. I don’t have a good reason really, I mean it’s not difficult. I just dread pulling off our heavy comforter, then the back and forth from one side to the other, making sure I don’t have more blanket than my husband, do I have enough sheet at the end so we don’t pull it out while sleeping, yada, yada. Come on now, you have to admit, you’ve been there too.
I will admit though, when the task is completed I feel so much better, and I look forward to crawling into those clean sheets for the first time that evening. Everything smells fresh, and you just hunker down into that freshness, ahhh.
I think our relationship with Father holds those times when we have to “change the sheets”. We have to ask for forgiveness, kneel to Him, and remove the stained garments that cover us. We have to let Him see the stripped bareness of our soul and who we are. Then we can be open to the freshness of forgiveness, and know that Father has made things clean again.
Friends, we will make mistakes in our lives. We are going to sin, um…newsflash…we’re human. Father doesn’t ask us to be perfect, He simply asks us to come to Him and repent, ask for forgiveness. He will gladly wrap His arms around us, just like those clean sheets, and show His unconditional love.
So, whatever you may be going through in your life, know that Father is there. Just place the challenges at His feet. Ask for forgiveness and then be accepting of His loving arms around you.
Have a good day my friends 🙂

Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me.
