I mentioned in this little blog yesterday that on Friday evening I began getting text messages and seeing posts on social media about the opening ceremonies of the olympics. As I mentioned yesterday I didn’t watch the ceremonies, and honestly haven’t watched the olympics since they started allowing professional athletes to compete.
As yesterday progressed I began to hear the details of what happened at these opening ceremonies, then finally saw a picture of the “reenactment” of the Last Supper with trans actors. Wow, simply wow. The sadness that I felt watching God’s children blatantly turn away from Him and align with satan was immense. This is simply and pointedly wrong. There is no explaining it as “art” as someone tried to. There is no passing it off as “Well that’s the French Culture”, as another said. No, this is simply evil on display with satan directing.
I won’t sit idly by and not say that the people behind this production, the people who thought it was ok to mock God, I simply say actions have consequences. Father gave us free will to make our choices, however, He has also made it extremely clear that there will come a time when we will answer for the choices we make.
I’ve read about several sponsors pulling their advertising effective immediately. Well, that’s a plus, however, it doesn’t change the heart of the individuals who felt it was OK to write, produce, and perform such a mockery of one of the most significant moments in the life of Jesus Christ.
Part of me wonders if satan has become more bold because he sees God’s children in so many ways coming back to Him. Is this a “last ditch” effort, the fallen child stomping his feet saying “You will look at me”? I don’t know, and ultimately it doesn’t matter, it’s how God’s children behaved on Friday evening.
This morning, I will say earnest prayers for those involved with this event. I will ask Father to open their hearts to see the evil that was on display. I will ask Father to “Forgive them for they know not what they do”. And…I will pray that God’s people, well, I pray that they wake up and ask forgiveness, before the day comes when we will all answer face to face with Father.
Galatians 6:7
Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap.
