We Got This

My boss, (our Rector), has been on sabbatical for the last several months. I believe, (I guess I should know this), that it’s the first time he’s been gone for this long since he started almost 15 years ago. It’s been an interesting time over the past three months, in a good way actually.

You see when my boss left back in May, I hadn’t even been in my role for a year. I have to admit I was a little nervous about fully taking the reins of the operations. There were things I didn’t know, people I hadn’t yet met or know well, tasks to be done that I hadn’t done before, ya it was a little daunting.

It’s interesting how Father works. Over the past several months I think everyone on our team has grown. I know I sure have. I’ve learned so much about not only the physical campus that I oversee, but about our team, our parishioners, and myself. Each day brought something new and whether it was a challenge or a success our team went through it together. We laughed a lot, we scratched our heads some, and we’ve grown closer together with Father at the center of what we do.

I think God puts us in situations sometimes to show us just how strong we are. Many times we don’t believe in ourselves, thinking, “There’s no way I can do that” when in reality, it’s only us that is stopping us. I don’t believe Father created us to be doubters, not of ourselves and certainly not of Him. Each day we have to believe in ourselves, believe in our ability to learn and to grow, and most importantly, believe in Father to help us and guide us through whatever we do. We got this, my friends.

So when my boss returns to work tomorrow, I’ll give him a thorough update on everything, and I’ll share how much our team has grown, and how wonderful the experience has been. I’ll thank him for the trust he placed in me and in the whole team. And…most importantly, I’ll give thanks to Father for guiding me and being there to help me grow over the past few months. Yes, my friends, we got this!

Continued prayers for Emily Rea. They are calling for specially skilled volunteers to do a ground search today through Sunday in heavily wooded areas. Updates are being posted here in the FB group. Please lift prayers for these volunteers, the authorities, and Emily’s family as the search continues.
