See And Show

Have you ever had one of those moments when you look at something and you notice a face or shape? It happens with clouds quite a bit, you can make out the shape of a heart, or an animal. There are several of these types of instances that will pop up on social media. Someone will post a picture and say, “Do you see it, the face?”, and then people will spend the next 30 minutes gazing at the picture.

Well, last night while brushing my teeth I glanced down at the tile in our bathroom. I was brushing away just waiting for the timer on the toothbrush to tell me to move to the next grouping of teeth, ok, too much info there, sorry. Anyway, as I looked down I saw what looked like a face in the pattern of our tile. I stared at the area intently and as crazy as it sounds, I felt Father. I sensed Father looking back at me in those eyes. I know, I know, you think I’m being a little out there with this, but I have to say the face was so clear. What came to mind was Him God asking, “Don’t you see me?”.

This made me think about the ways in which I see Father in my daily life. I see Him in the people I work with. I see Him moving in the lives of friends and family. I see Him in the way that people help each other. I see Him in the gift of new life. I see Him comforting family as they say goodbye to a loved one.

I think the next question is, how do I show Father? What I mean by this is, how do I show Him to others, especially those that maybe aren’t as close in relationship to Him as they should be? I don’t think bringing people into my bathroom and saying, “Hey look at the tile there do you see God’s face”, will work much. However, I can show God through my actions.

I can be there to comfort a friend and pray with them when they face challenges. I can deliver cookies to that not-so-nice neighbor, just to say have a good day. I can help at a local charity to assist those in need. I can simply hold the door for a stranger coming into the restaurant behind me. I can pay it forward and buy a coffee for the car behind me at the drive-through, and ask the server to tell the person to “Have a blessed day”. Yes friends there are many ways that we can not only see Father but more importantly show Him to others.

This world might be a happier place if we start seeing and showing Father more in our daily lives. So, today as you go about your day, take a little time to notice Him, and a little time to show Him. Have a good day friends.

Please keep lifting Emily Rea and her family in your daily prayers. So many searches are continuing in MT. There are so many ways to see Father in this process, He truly is in the center of it. Father, please bring Emily home to her family, in Jesus name I pray, Amen.

Psalm 27:8
You have said, “Seek my face.” My heart says to you, “Your face, Lord, do I seek.”
