Quality Time

It’s a long weekend, one I’m sure many of us can use. I’m pretty pooped and am looking forward to just doing some things my husband and I have talked about doing. Maybe catch a movie, spend some time by the water, and maybe even sneak in a long drive or two.

I’m going to spend some quality time with Jesus as well. You know, I’m a child of His, and I’ve got some flaws. He knows my flaws and He wants me to do my best to be more like him. So the best way to do that is to spend some quality time with Him, not just on the three-day weekends, but each and every day.

I have a sweet friend who gave a cup to me last year with an inscription on it. It reads, “May you be proud of the work you do, the person you are, and the difference you make”. Well, I think that just about sums it up, doesn’t it? I think that is probably what Jesus wants us to do.

Friends, this is a short post today for two reasons. Number one, I’m heading out to spend some time on the water, but more importantly, number two, I just think this post is to remind you to spend time with Jesus every single day. Spend quality time with Him. Talk to Him, build a relationship with Him, and make Him your very BEST friend. At the end of the day, He is the ONLY friend that will matter.

Wishing everyone a wonderful weekend ahead. May it be relaxing and may it be filled with connection to our Risen Lord.

Prayers this morning for Emily Rea. Lord Jesus, please bring this sweet child home to her family.

p.s. Special thanks to my friend Dana Watson for one of the last beautiful sunsets from her trip to Africa, the cover of today’s little blog!
