Everything We Need

This morning I made my way out to our lanai to have my daily early morning chat with Father. When I opened the sliding door and stepped outside I was hit with a wall of summer humidity that we love so much here in SW Florida. It’s been particularly muggy here the past few days as we’ve gotten some really heavy rains. Yes, at one point yesterday I was thinking we might need an ark 🙂 .

Anyway, I pushed on through the humidity and sat down under the ceiling fan to look out over our lake. I’ve mentioned it before, the early morning when things are still dark and it’s quiet, it’s one of my favorite times. It’s easier to focus and I feel much closer to Father. I said good morning and started my conversation, realizing that shew, yes it was humid and I was feeling it. Right then I felt a chill on the back of my neck as the breeze from our fan came over me. I looked up and a flash of lightning came across the sky. Well, “Good Morning Lord”, I said out loud. Yes, I think that was Father who brought that breeze, and the words that came to me were “I’m everything that you need”.

It really is that simple isn’t it? In this life, in all that we do, in all that we go through, in everything, Jesus is all that we need. There are so many times when I try to handle things on my own, whether I’m dealing with a difficult situation, struggling with earthly woes, or just feeling alone, I just figure I’ll get through it. Ya, that usually doesn’t work so well. However, when I stop to realize that yep, I’m being silly and trying to muscle through on my own, and then ask Jesus to walk beside me, things become clearer and I see the way through. Now granted sometimes His answer to my challenges or struggles, well it’s different than the route I wanted to take, but…newsflash, His way is the right way.

Friends, we truly do have everything that we need in this life in Jesus. Granted, we have family and friends, and the love and support they give is so precious. However, the love and support that comes from our Lord, well that was bought and paid for with His body and blood. It’s a gift that is totally priceless. So today, just ask Him to walk next to you, to guide you and spend the day just being with you helping you along the way. The day will be brighter I’m pretty darn confident of that.

Have a great day my friends. Please continue to lift Emily Rea and her family in your daily prayers, that Father will bring her home.

James 1:5
If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him.
