A Chance To Be Better

I’m sure we all look at the dawn of a new day as a new opportunity. We have a chance to do things differently, to look at things in a new light, and make different choices than we did yesterday. One of the things I ask in my prayers to Father each morning is for Him to show me the opportunities where I can be more like Him. I simply ask that He help me to be a better child of His. Ya, there’s a simple little task, right?

This morning during my “chat” with Him I was replaying the events of yesterday. There was a situation at work, nothing major mind you, however in reviewing it this morning, I realized that He was showing me a mirror. I realized that what happened was a reflection of me and was showing me changes I needed to make. My goodness, this morning it is all so clear.

Friends, I’ve said it before, and I will continue to say it, the Lord is on the move and He is clearly asking His children to choose how they will live. He so wants us to be with Him, to live our lives as Jesus did, and ultimately to be with Him in paradise. Events like yesterday, well that was simply the Lord showing me how I wasn’t handling something like “a better child of God”. He showed me that I needed to change my behavior to be more like Him. As I said, this morning I see it so clearly and can only smile and say, “Thank you Lord for the chance to see it and to change. Thank you for giving me the chance to be better”.

Jesus knows our faults, He also sees the goodness in us and He pretty much knows what we’re going to do before we do it. I think there are times when He steps in before we do something to try and dissuade us, but ya most of the time, He lets us choose. Then on the other side, there is probably a teaching moment when He can show us an opportunity to be better the next time.

So friends as you begin your day, take a moment to think back on yesterday. Are there areas where you could have done something differently, is Father showing you a mirror? Well, today is a new day and a new chance to be better. Go ahead, take the chance like I am, go for it and “be a better child of His”.

Have a great day my friends!

2 Peter 3:9
The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance.
