We really are you know, His sheep I mean. At the end of the day my friends, that is truly all that matters, Jesus is our shepherd and we are His sheep. We wander off many times, but you know what, He will leave the flock to find the one who has strayed.
There is a lot going on in our lives these days. There are many things that, well quite frankly, I don’t understand why they are happening. I do know though, when things happen that we don’t understand, when we let doubt enter our minds, that is usually when satan takes the opportunity to jump in and play. He doesn’t like to work to separate us from Jesus, no he’ll take the easy way when he gets the chance. And…many times we leave the door wide open for him. Like the sheep, we just wander off from the herd, we wander from the shepherd’s presence and before we know it, we’re lost.
When things happen that make us wonder and then wander, those are the times when we must listen for the shepherd’s call. Those are the times when we need to stop and let Him find us again. We need to let Him assure us that all will be OK as we make our way back to His flock.
Whatever may be happening in our lives, Jesus, our shepherd, He is always here. I know, I sound like a broken record. Well, this is one that I’m OK replaying, because like everyone else, I need to hear it and remind myself.
So friends, if you’ve strayed and feel a little lost, just stop. Let the shepherd hear your call, and then listen for His voice. Let Him care for you and bring you back to the flock. He will – actually He has laid down His life for His sheep 🙂 .
p.s. Thanks to our youngest Lauren for the beautiful sunset picture from the heartland last night, the cover of today’s little blog.
