It’s Not That Hard

Sometimes when I sit down to write this little blog, I feel like I’m trying too hard. This morning is one of those times. I’ve typed and deleted paragraphs at least three times. I know the message I want to share but I’m struggling with putting it down into words. Ugh… That’s when I realized, stop trying so hard and just tell people to be there for each other.

Yesterday a friend stopped by the office for a meeting, (she’s on one of our committees). She recently lost her father, (he was a spry 97, and trust me he was wonderful). While she was at the office she had a few questions about wrapping up his commitments with the church, and while she talked she just welled up. I simply walked over to her and hugged her. She needed the touch of another person, needed to know that she was loved and that all would be ok.

Friends, it’s a short message today, but I hope one that sticks with everyone. As we go about our days, just look for the opportunities to make things better for others. A simple smile and a “Good morning” as you walk into the office can set the tone for the entire day. Saying thank you to the person at the drive-thru who hands you your coffee, well it might be the only positive they have in their day. Just hold the door for the person coming into the store behind you, it’s not that hard to do and it’s polite. When you see someone who is sad or upset, a simple touch can make all the difference in the world.

No, it’s really not that hard, sharing the love of Father I mean. Look for the moments today friends, you might be surprised how many you find, and you might be surprised how many find you 🙂 . Have a good day friends.

Also, please take a moment today to lift prayers for Emily Rea. This sweet woman is still missing. We need to keep prayers going for her return.

1 John 4:16
So we have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him.
