Furfriends Community

We’re moving into fall and here in SW Florida that means the return of many “seasonal residents”. We lament the days when we see the “car trucks” returning. These are the trucks that are transporting the vehicles as their owners fly to their winter residences. The return of the “snowbirds” as we call them, well it means even more traffic on our roads, it means making reservations at restaurants again, it means crowds at grocery stores and retail establishments. Ya, it gets pretty crazy here in the winter.

Now having said all of that, most importantly, the return of season means the return of friends and their furfriends. I’ve shared here before that our little community has some pretty special pooches. There’s Milton our “elderly” black and white rat terrier, and Murphy the young floppy-eared terrier with the cutest ears. In residence is also sweet little Panda the pomapoo, and my favorite buddy, Toby the cavalier king charles. Well during the season, they are all back in the community.

Last night Milton and Toby were walking their humans, (that’s what we call it when they are taking their evening walks), and we all chatted as we were grilling dinner. It’s a great way to end the day, catch up with friends, and of course, get our daily dose of puppy lovin’. I was asking if we had an update on little Panda across the street. She’s the pomapoo I mentioned earlier. You see she had some surgery earlier this week, which the surgeon felt optimistic about. She’s an older girl so we’re all concerned about her healing. I got an update that she’s doing as well as can be expected. I’m going to make some time to see the little girl this weekend.

I kid a little about the furfriends in the neighborhood. Yes, we enjoy the puppy snuggles and attention, but you know it’s about how these animals bring our community closer. What started as just petting the pooches, has turned into time when neighbors spend time talking and learning more about each other. Over time we’ve become friends who care about each other. When challenges occur we are there for each other, (we have a little text group), and readily ask for prayers. Yes, our little community is just that, a community of people who care about each other. Father brings His children together in interesting ways for certain. Well, we’re all God’s children, that includes the furbabies 🙂 .

So yes, there are some downsides to the “season” here, however, there are even better benefits like the return of friends and furfriends 🙂 . We’re blessed to have both here in our little community.

Have a great day everyone, oh, can you lift a little prayer for our little pomapoo named Panda, that she recovers soon from her surgery 🙂 .

For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them.
