Yep, she is a very big storm. We are fortunate here in SW Florida that we will only see a small piece of what she’s packing. The Big Bend area of Florida will take the brunt, and it is going to be a major brunt. She will not be kind as she makes her way to landfall.

My hope is that everyone has taken this storm as seriously as they should. I pray for those in the path of Helene, which includes states bordering FL to the north. When she’s passed, we’ll do what we do, we will come together and help each other through.

Friends, this morning I simply offer this prayer, shared by our priest yesterday, and I ask that you all lift prayers high for all in the path of this storm.

Gracious God, in the beginning your Spirit moved across the face of the deep bringing order out of chaos, we pray now that you dissipate Hurricane Helene and protect all those in her way, be with first responders and government officials as they seek to protect us, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Be safe everyone, and heed the warnings as they come, there are a bunch of them happening already! Be there for each other, it’s going to be much needed, and remember that Father will guide us through.
