Where It Started

If you’ve been following this little blog for awhile you know that it was originally supposed to be a little book, not a little blog. Well, I have all of the chicken scratches, loose papers, post-it notes, etc. still in a binder in my office. This morning as I was struggling with what to say here, I heard Father say, “Back to where it started”. I wandered over and grabbed that binder and started looking at all of the scripture verses, prayers, verses from hymns, and other moving words I have collected over the years.

It reminded me of the purpose of this little blog, to see Father through the gift of sunrises and sunsets. Admittedly, it’s turned in to more than that, however, when I find myself at a loss for words, it seems Father brings be back to where it started. It started with Him.

Maybe that is the message for today. When challenges come our way, when things seem at their worst, when we’re not sure how we’re going to get through, go back to where it started, go back to Father.

As I looked through my many pages and scraps of paper this morning, this Psalm that I wrote down five years ago jumped off the page at me. I think it might be what God wants me to share this morning.

Psalm 40:1-3
I waited patiently upon the Lord:
he stooped to me and heard my cry.
He lifted me out of the desolate pit, out of the mire and clay;
he set my feet upon a high cliff and made my footing sure.
He put a new song in my mouth,
a song of praise to our God;
many shall see, and stand in awe,
and put their trust in the Lord.

Friends, when you’re feeling out of sorts, feeling the stress of the day, dealing with challenges or difficulties, make your way back to where it started. Everything starts with Father, He is always there 🙂 .
