Well, we’re prepping again for another storm here in Florida. This one is different, and actually quite rare in that it’s not coming up through the Yucatan as they normally do. This storm is coming from the Pacific and headed straight at the state. There is simply no question of whether it will “turn” and make landfall in another state. No, Milton has his sights set on the sunshine state and quite frankly there ain’t one of us here happy about it 😦 .

Last night as I was heading to bed, I read a FB post in our private Marco Island Prayer Group. The simple prayer posted by a woman said it all. I really can’t add to it. The prayer can be for any state or community, it just happened to be for ours at this time. So, I share it here this morning as our beautiful state prepares for the pending storm.

Heavenly Father,
We come before You with humble hearts, lifting up the state of Florida and its people as this new storm approaches.

Lord, we ask for Your hand of protection to be upon every home, every family, and every soul.

Calm the winds and still the waters, Father, for You have authority over all creation. We speak peace over Florida, and we ask for Your angels to surround and shield the vulnerable.

May every plan of the enemy be stopped, and may no harm come to those who call upon Your name.

We declare that You are our refuge and our fortress, our God in whom we trust. In Jesus’ mighty name, AMEN

Friends, please lift prayers over the next few days. So many in the northern part of the state are still trying to just clean up after Helene. As I said, Milton is a rare storm and we’re still not quite sure what the affects will be. Florida friends, please prepare and don’t shrug this one off. At the end of the day if you’ve fully prepped and didn’t need to, great, better that then the opposite situation.
