Miracles Before Milton

As the recovery process began following Hurricane Milton yesterday, I noticed something on social media. People were sharing the prayers they had been praying on Tuesday and Wednesday as the storm was intensifying. Interesting that we were all praying the same thing. Hmmm, God moments perhaps, me thinks so 🙂 .

Yes, we were all praying that Father would lay His hands upon the storm calm the seas and disperse the winds. One friend shared how she prayed that Father would stick His fingers in the eye of the storm. Well, that is pretty much what happened. The closer the storm got to land, we began to watch it collapse. The whole bottom side of it just disappeared. Then the eye wall collapsed and it splintered as it made landfall. Another interesting tidbit, Tampa Bay experienced reverse storm surge which drove the water away from the shoreline as the storm approached. This spared the city from what was feared a catastrophic event for Tampa.

Yes, there were many miracles as Milton came ashore. Yes, it was a major hurricane and there are many communities that have suffered much damage. Together we will help them rebuild. I do believe though, we saw Father’s hands take control of what could have been an even more devastating event.

Sometimes I wonder if we truly understand the power of prayer, especially when it is offered with authority. Remember again that Jesus told us, “Whoever believes in me will also do the works that I do; and greater works than these will he do”. We have the power, especially through prayer to ask Father for miracles, and even more importantly we need to believe that those prayers will be answered and those miracles performed.

So friends, continue to lift prayers for all those who have been affected by the storms these past weeks. And…more importantly, lean on the faith that Father will answer those prayers.

p.s. special thanks to my friend Teresa Spence for the sunset pic from Northeast FL.

Mark 11:24
Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.
