The Heart of His Children

When I think of the heart of God’s children, well, all I can do is smile. Yesterday I was surrounded by the collective heart of His children. An army of volunteers arrived to help move five rooms of furniture, plus our full thrift store. The way they worked together, the way they supported each other, it was simply Father at work. Words just can’t express my thanks to so many for being there yesterday.

When I got home last night and managed a hot shower and a few Advil, I glanced at my social media page. A friend of mine, (the aunt of sweet Emily Rea who we pray for), had posted a video. She lives in NC and is helping so many in the western part of the state by donating “success boxes”, large tubs with supplies. You see, many of the people in the Appalachian mountains are living in tents right now because their homes have been destroyed. The success boxes are filled with many items like hand and feet warmers, gloves, radios, solar chargers, spices, and much more. The boxes help these wonderful people to be just a little more comfortable.

My friend’s plea was three-fold. First, to remember these special people. Second, to lift a prayer for them, and lastly, if so moved, to please make our own success boxes to send to her. They will be delivering these to the affected areas on Friday. For those who can’t physically send a box, donate and she would purchase the supplies and build the boxes to deliver. Her goal was to make 10 boxes. The response was amazing. She did an update video shortly after to share that she and her husband were shopping for supplies. Even during that update, the donations kept pouring in. Just in a few short hours, she was able to build not 10 but 20 of the success boxes. The heart of God’s children is on full display.

Friends, we’ve been through so much, but it is truly an amazing time to be alive. Father is everywhere and is providing. There are just too many things happening to deny that God is in our midst. May our hearts continue to be filled with His love, that we may continue to share it.

Please keep the people of Western NC, Eastern TN, and the state of FL in your prayers. Keep giving of yourself, keep sharing the heart of Father, and know that He is so in our midst.

One final request, please lift a special pray for my friend Teri who lost her father last week. Please pray for peace and comfort for this sweet friend.
