Where do I even begin when talking about the spirit of this great nation over the past month? I just continue to be in awe of how Americans are coming together to take care of their fellow Americans. I continue to be amazed by how Father is working to connect His children to make things happen.
The grass roots supply chains that formed, people from all over the country collecting things to help those in NC, TN and FL. Families filling large pickup trucks and driving to drop off points 12 – 18 hours from them. Friends offering to take supplies and their friends donating money to purchase those supplies. People setting up mobile kitchens, feeding stations to just provide a hot meal for their fellow Americans. Some of which haven’t had a hot meal in over two weeks.
I’m struggling this morning to find the words for what I’m seeing and how these recent storms have rallied God’s children into action. The American spirit runs deep, but what runs even deeper is the love we have for each other. Maybe I’m just tired, it’s been a long few weeks, but I find myself emotional this morning looking at some of the images I see of strangers giving so much to those who have lost everything. Father is providing, and I can’t help but think that He is so pleased to see us doing just as He asked, loving others as He loves us.
Friends, I share this beautiful song performed by a friend of ours. It speaks to the spirit of America. It speaks to the love we share for this great nation, and our desire to give our best to it. Please take just 4 minutes to give it a listen.
I continue to lift prayers for so many who have lost everything. I lift prayers for all of God’s children giving of themselves to help. I lift prayers for the spirit of this great country. I lift prayers that we, God’s children will continue to care for each other long past the disasters of these past weeks.
p.s. Thank you to my friend Joey Waves for a beautiful sunrise from Marco Island yesterday, the cover of this little blog. Unfortunately, I haven’t been out to get any sunrise or sunset pics, Joey, thank you for letting me share yours my friend 🙂 .
Luke 6:38
Give, and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap. For with the measure you use it will be measured back to you.
