Nuisance – It’s Ok

Friends, sometimes you can’t make things up. Sometimes you simply have to laugh at what happens in life. This morning, well that would be one of those times.

I had hoped to take today off, and try and get things done around our house that have been lacking for obvious reasons over the past few weeks. Thinking I’d sleep in a little late, have some coffee, spend some time with Father, and begin a relaxing day.

Well, at 11:30 p.m. last night, our smoke alarms began blaring. We of course jumped up and started looking everywhere. Nothing, no smoke, no smell, no nothing. They went off after about 30 seconds. We figured it was a fluke and headed back to bed. One hour later, same thing. So now, at 1:00 a.m. I’m googling why this could possibly be happening. Several short YouTube videos later, I’m on a step stool vacuuming the individual alarms, as I learned that dust particles could send a false signal. Head back to bed and of course, lay there now fully awake. Yep, you guessed it, an hour later they go off one last time, only for just a moment. Well, by 4:00 a.m., my husband and I dozed off.

Needless to say, this morning, all I can do is laugh. Was it a nuisance, absolutely. Am I tired, absolutely. However, when I think about the people who have been affected by the recent storms, those who have lost everything, sleeping in tents as winter approaches, well, I’ll take the little nuisance.

Friends, take a moment today to look around you and see just how blessed you are. Father has provided and will continue to provide. Take the little nuisances in this life and laugh at them, realizing there are those so less fortunate and would welcome those nuisances.

Continued prayers for NC, TN and FL today and in the many weeks/months ahead. Also continued prayers for Emily Rea, Father please bring your child home.

James 1:12
Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him.
