There are several ways to look at the title of this little blog this morning. If you’re like me you’ve probably thought of your favorite happy place, like the beach, or maybe the mountains, and thought to yourself, “I just want to be here all the time”. When you spend time with your family, catch up with old friends, or enjoy your favorite outdoor activity, you get the idea, you want to be there whenever you can.
Well, this morning as I was spending quiet time with Father and asked what message I could share in this little blog, I heard, “I want to be here”. As I heard that I felt that little tingle I get, only this time the tingle I felt was in my heart. I again heard, “I want to be here, in your heart, always”. I smiled and said, “Ok then Father, that was pretty clear”.
Maybe I should also mention that my prayers, before asking what message I could share, were centered around asking Jesus to walk beside me today. I was asking Him to keep me centered and focused, and asking Him to help me share His love today. I asked that He help me to be more like Him in all that I do today. His response was, “I want to be in your heart always”.
I guess it really isn’t a mystery, is it? If I have Jesus in my heart, all of the time, if He resides there, I have no choice but to be more like Him. The question is, how do I keep Him fully in my heart at all times? It’s not easy sometimes. I let the challenges of the day take my focus away from Him, rather than ask Him to help me through the challenges.
So today I think I’ll try something. I jotted down the phrase, “I want to be here” on a post-it note. I’m going to take it to work with me and place it where I see it regularly. My hope is it serves as a little reminder to chat with Father as I make my way throughout the day and allow Him to reside fully in my heart. I guess it sounds kind of silly but don’t knock it until you’ve tried it π .
Father said, “I want to be here”, and that is exactly where I want Him. I think I’ll find that the challenges of the day, well they won’t be. Be here Lord, be fully in my heart, that I may share you in all that I do today.
Have a great day friends, and as always, thanks for listening to my little ramblings here in this little blog π .
