We’ve had family in town for the last few days. My brother, (who you all prayed for a few weeks ago), and sister-in-law came in for a long weekend. It was time spent doing the things you like to do when guests are in your Southwest FL town. We did a sunset cruise, ate at some of the great local restaurants, took some tours around our favorite places, oh and of course spent a morning fishing, you get the idea.
We didn’t plan a jam packed weekend though, by design. I had mentioned to my brother that I was looking forward to some sibling time, before they arrived, so I intentionally left time to just be together. We had a great time just talking throughout the weekend. We all found ourselves just sitting and enjoying conversation. Even while spending a little time at the pool yesterday, my brother and I had a wonderful discussion about our relationship with God and Jesus. Trust me, when we were growing up, that is not a conversation we would have had π .
As I type this little blog this morning, I realize yet again how truly blessed I am. Our childhood wasn’t perfect, there aren’t many that are. However, we had parents who dearly loved us, of that there is never a doubt. Playing a little remember when this weekend reminded me that even through the difficult times, our time together as a little family was one of love.
I’m blessed to have siblings who love me, and I’m blessed to have the opportunity to continue to grow my relationship with them. Even better, I’m blessed to have the opportunity to grow together with them in our relationship with the Father, Son and Holy Ghost. I don’t believe the timing of this family visit was random, I believe Father provided this time together this weekend to show the many ways He is moving in our lives.
Friends, I just encourage you to make time to be together with your family. Enjoy simple conversation, play a little remember when, talk about your relationship with God and let Him in to show you how He is moving in your life. We’ve had family in town for the last few days. Have a wonderful day everyone. Continue prayers for those affected by the storms recently and continued prayers for Emily Rea that God may bring her home to her family.
1 Corinthians 13:13
So now faith, hope and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love.
