Happiness in a Tune

As I wrote in this little blog last week, I had family in town last weekend. My brother and sister-in-law were here for a few days and as I shared, we had a wonderful time.

We took them for a sunset cruise around Naples and after a short rain shower, watched a beautiful sunset. As the boat returned to the marina we enjoyed conversation, music, and a truly gorgeous evening. The captain came on as we made our final approach to the dock, thanking everyone for making the trip and wishing us a great evening. As he did so a song came on the radio that took everyone back a few years. It’s a feel-good song, everyone knows it and even the little children on the boat got into the groove so to speak. Where in the world am I going with all this you are probably wondering.

This morning as I sat down to write this little blog I thought back on this week. I’ve shared my thoughts about the election, candidates, the American people, and Jesus. As you all know, my faith is in our Lord to help heal this nation and bring His children back together. So, I was reminded of last Friday evening when that boat docked at the marina and this oldie but goodie came on the radio. I watched as everyone sang along, had smiles on their faces, and felt happiness.

This morning I share this song here in this little blog. You all can thank me later for having it stuck in your head for the remainder of the day. Actually, I’ll go a step further, why not share this one with your friends, family, and co-workers? Have the whole office singing it. Wouldn’t that be fun to have this song making its way around the country today?

Seriously though, I think we can all use a break from the week, and what better way than with a song we all know? So, enjoy, sing along, start your day with a smile, and share it, (the smile and the song) with others.

Have a great day friends.

Psalm 100:1-2
A Psalm for giving thanks. Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth! Serve the Lord with gladness! Come into his presence with singing!
