Shopping for a Cause

What a fun weekend ahead! All week we’ve been transforming our parish hall into our 68th Annual Christmas Market. Over 20 local businesses plus three of our ministries will be putting the final touches on our booths today.

Tonight we’ll open the doors to almost 300 people for our preview party, and tomorrow we’ll see double that many pass through the market. These local businesses support our mission to raise funds for community outreach throughout the year. Together we help the most needy in our county and I love the way it all comes together.

It truly is a win/win. Local businesses are supported through the market and in turn, they give back to the community to help others.

Father is truly at work in this event. Well, He is at work everywhere, however I’ve seen Him in so many ways this week. I’m thankful for the volunteers who make this all come together, I’m thankful for the local businesses who come and support and I’m thankful to be able to participate in the giving back to help. So, I’m off to make some final tweaks to our Gourmet Canners booth and as I do, I’ll say a little prayer of thanks to our Lord for the gift of giving hearts.

Have a wonderful day my friends, and hey, find a way to give back a little today. When you swing through the drive through to get that morning coffee, why not buy the car behind you one as well. It’s a little thing, but you never know the difference you can make by just giving a little of yourself πŸ™‚ .

2 Corinthians 9:7
Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.
