I was thinking about this the other day, wondering, does Father put us in situations to test us, to see how we will respond? I have to admit the answer to that might be above my pay grade.
I think it’s a fair question to ask and I’m sure it can make for a very interesting conversation. I know that Jesus was tested almost every day, especially the closer He got to the crucifixion. Many tested Him and He always turned the tables on those trying to trap Him. Satan tested, some say tempted, Him and He once again held fast to Father’s commandments never wavering.
Over the past weeks there have been times I’ve found myself in situations where perhaps Father was testing me. I guess I prefer the word challenging me. He put a challenge in front of me to see how I would overcome it. Many of these “challenges” were not monumental, they in many cases were just simple conversations, or situations where I just didn’t feel I had time to deal with them. They were, however, challenges nonetheless, and I think God had me in them to see how I would respond.
Looking back on these challenges, or tests if you like, I think I could have done better. I think there were times when I should have been more patient. I should have listened more, and most importantly, I should have asked Jesus to help me to be more like Him. It’s easy to get so wrapped up in the busyness of the day, week, month, that before I know it, I’m looking back on situations and saying, “I really could have handled that differently”.
Does Father test us? Call it what you will, test, tempt, challenge, I do believe we are placed in situations to see if we will call upon Him to help us through. I do believe He wants us to understand that we are not here to live this journey alone.
There will be challenges in our lives. There will be times we feel alone, but if we remind ourselves every day to ask Jesus to help us through whatever is facing us, no matter how small we think it may be He will help us overcome the test, this I know.
Have a good day my friends, we got this 🙂 .
p.s. Special thanks to my granddaughter Dakota for the beautiful sunset picture from the Heartland last night, the cover of today’s little blog.
James 1:12
Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love Him.
