The weather is changing here in SW Florida. A major cool front is coming through and we’ll see some 50’s this weekend. Ya, ya, I know, those of you up north are already expecting snow. It is a relative thing you know, the cold that is.
The time change has the sun rising and setting “earlier” these days. Ya, I’m not a fan, but that’s for another little blog some other time. Over the past few days, I’ve been noticing the sky as we come out of work. There have been some amazing colors, oranges, blues, and pinks. Many friends and family have been sharing pictures of the sunrises and sunsets.
I’m not sure if it’s just the change of the seasons, or if Father is particularly busy with His paintbrush for a reason. Whatever the reason, I think we need to take the time to give in to the colors that are painting the sky.
There are so many gifts in this life that cost absolutely nothing, and spending time enjoying a beautiful sunrise or sunset are just two of those gifts. Giving in to the colors for just a few moments allows us to first, thank God for the gift of His creation, and it allows us to spend a moment totally with Him.
When I look to the sky and catch one of those moments, I openly say “Wow, look at that”. I can almost feel Jesus tugging on my sleeve saying, “Hey look what my Father did there”. It makes to stop in my tracks, and the sense of calm that fills me is indescribable.
Friends, I’m not sure why the skies are so incredibly beautiful this particular week, I just know that we should make time to enjoy them. Make an effort to stop and look up, give in to the colors you see, and give thanks for the gift of His creation. Simple yet priceless gifts.
Have a great day friends, step outside, the sun is rising as I type this 🙂 .
p.s. Thanks to my friend Cookie Coleman for the beautiful sunrise picture from Naples yesterday morning, the cover of today’s little blog.
