Thanksgiving Day. I know many of you have probably been up for hours already, prepping the bird, making the special family recipes, and filling the house with incredible smells. Yes, this is very close to being my favorite holiday.
As I mentioned a few days ago, I’m giving thanks in this little blog for one thing each day this week. Today, a day set aside for giving thanks, I can’t think of anything I’m more thankful for than Father’s gift of His Son Jesus. Without this selfless gift, we wouldn’t be here celebrating today.
Friends, as you gather around your tables today, as you watch that rivalry football game this afternoon, as you head back for that second helping of pie, please take a moment to give thanks to Father for the gift of His Son. He gave us this gift so that we may have eternal life. All He asks is that we live our lives as His Son did. All He asks is that we follow just 10 rules. All He wants is a loving deep relationship with us, His children.
Father, today, and every day, I give thanks for the gift of your Son. May I never take this gift for granted and may I do everything I can every day to live my life as He did. Thank you Father for loving me enough to give your Son for me.
Happy Thanksgiving friends, may it be filled with love and laughter. Please lift prayers for those less fortunate today, that their bellies and their hearts may be filled.
Ephesians 5:20
Giving thanks always and for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
