Go Anyway

Like many people, my husband and I had yesterday off. It was a welcomed day with nothing planned, something pretty rare in our lives 🙂 . We took the opportunity to sleep in a bit, enjoyed some coffee, sat on the lanai, he worked a crossword puzzle, and I caught up on looking through a few of the catalogs that are arriving with the latest Christmas gift ideas. Yes, it was a lazy morning I guess you could say.

We spent a little time cleaning up some personal emails and taking care of a few things around the house, had lunch on the lanai, and even enjoyed a little time in the sun. We had already discussed catching the sunset on the beach, something we hadn’t done in many months and it was a perfect day for it.

We wanted to wash the car so we planned things timely enough to make the stop there before heading to the beach. As we left the house I looked at the sky and noticed clouds rolling in, uh oh where did those come from? We made our way to the car wash and as we pulled in to dry the car, the clouds just kept rolling in. Really, are you going to ruin the sunset? We finished with the car and decided to make our way to the beach anyway, we could see some shade of blue sky and figured we had nothing to lose by checking. I am so glad we went.

As we parked the car and made our way onto the beach we could see that the sun was going to drop below the clouds above the water, it was setting up to be a beautiful sunset. As I’ve said before here in this little blog, there is just something about sitting by the water that calms you. The waves and the salt air I think are just simply good for the soul 🙂 .

We chatted and laughed about goofy things. A small family was doing a photo shoot with a photographer and afterward, the kids jumped around in the water. The laughter was infectious, it reminded us of our kids the first time they saw the beach. Not long after the sun began to make its way down and just as we had hoped it was a gorgeous evening. I’m glad that we went, I can’t help but wonder if satan was poking at us, “It’s cloudy you won’t see a sunset tonight”. Nice try, you lose again satan.

Friends, make the time to enjoy those moments that are totally free and are incredibly priceless. Even if you think things might not work out as you planned, go anyway, you have nothing to lose by trying. Father has blessed us with simple beauty all we need to do is take time to enjoy it. Have a great weekend friends 🙂 .

John 8:12
Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”
