Well, I’m not quite sure where the year has gone, here we are December 1st already. I will say that I welcome this day, for several reasons, first, we’ve officially made it through hurricane season! More importantly though, it’s Advent, the time when we prepare for the birth of the baby Jesus.
When our kids were little we always had an Advent calendar. They would take turns each morning opening the little doors and reading the story of the birth of the Christ Child as we made our way through the month. Those are special memories, and I have to admit I miss those years when our kids were little 🙂 .
With all of the busyness of the Holidays I just want to encourage everyone to try so slow down and appreciate the season of Advent. Let us remember the “reason for the season”. Maybe consider starting a new tradition. Get an Advent calendar and open the little doors with your kids or grandkids, or even your spouse if your little ones have grown and gone.
Have a wonderful day my friends, and remember, God gave His only Son for us, let us appreciate the gift and birth of that precious baby ❤ .
Isaiah 7:14
Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign. Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.
