Share You

So you all know that each morning I have a little pow-wow with Father. I spend the time on my lanai (Florida term for patio), in the quiet to sit and start my day in conversation with Him. It’s my favorite part of the day because it’s still dark, (at least at this time of the year), and very quiet. As I’ve mentioned before, there are many mornings, like this morning, when I ask, “What would you like me to share in the little blog today”. There are some days when I won’t hear anything or feel any response. This morning though, the response was almost immediate and it was interesting.

As I asked my standard question, I almost immediately heard, “Share You”. I thought to myself, share me, what do you mean share me? Then I repeated the words out loud that I heard Him say, “Share You”. Ahh, Father wants me to share HIM in this little blog today. I chuckled as I thought about it, and said, “You know you’re pretty good at this message thing”. At that moment I felt that tingle I get when I feel Him present.

So, how do I share Father today, I thought. The next image that came into my mind was our Cookie Sunday event that we held last weekend at church. I believe I’ve mentioned it before. Over 300 sugar cookies are rolled and baked for our kids, (of all ages), to decorate on the 2nd Sunday of Advent. In addition, kids paint handmade wooden creche figurines to be blessed on Christmas Eve. As I thought about sharing Father this morning the first thing that came to mind was the pictures I saw yesterday from the event. The images of the children so intently focused on decorating cookies were priceless. The images of families smiling and laughing, being together for something as simple as decorating cookies, captured the love that was abounding in the room that day.

I guess the point of this little blog today is how easy it is to share God in what we do. We can so easily share His love, the love of Jesus in the little things. Making cookies, (and sharing the experience with others, whether making them or giving them), holding the door for a stranger when you walk into the restaurant, saying thank you to the young man who is bagging your groceries, yes it’s so easy to share the love we are asked to share. You know what, sharing that love, well, you just never know the difference you can make by doing so. It just might be the only positive interaction the person has that day, and you were the one to make a difference.

Friends, give a listen this morning with your heart. How can you share God today? I’m guessing it won’t take long before something comes to mind, and when you realize what it is, give thanks to Father and then, go share Him. Have a great day friends, continued prayers for WNC and for sweet Emily Rea’s return.

John 1:12
But to all who did receive Him, who believe in His name, He gave the right to become children of God.
