Trust and Simplicity

I’ve shared with you all that there are days when I sit down at this little blog and I’m not quite sure what to share or write. I find that if I’m patient and truly turn it over to Father, then something will settle in. This morning was one of those times when I wasn’t feeling a pull to anything in particular. I sat with Him for a while, and just as I got up to head to my office, Psalm 23 came into my head.

This Psalm is referred to as the Psalm of David and is one of the most well-known Psalms. For me, it provides comfort and hope. A theologian referred to it as the best-known of the Psalms due to “its universal message of trust in God, and its simplicity.” I never thought of it that way, but it truly is simple—only six verses—and its message is simply trust in Father.

I share Psalm 23 this morning for anyone who may need it. I think we probably all could benefit from saying it as we begin this new day. Let our trust in Father and His Son Jesus, let it never falter.

Psalm 23
1 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.

He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.

He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.

Have a wonderful day my friends. Prayers continue for those in Western, NC, and California. Prayers as well for sweet Emily Rea’s return.
