You Remember

Children are the greatest and most precious gift that Father gives to us. They are to be cherished, loved, and protected above all else. If you are a parent, especially a mom like me, you remember pretty much every detail of when you gave birth to your children. It’s funny, I can’t remember some things I did last week, but by golly, I can tell you the details of the birth of my children like it was yesterday. I think we remember those details because giving birth to a child is truly a miracle. I’m not sure Father can be more present than in that moment when you hear the first cry of your newborn. There is no greater feeling than when your child is placed in your arms for the first time. Yes, you remember.

Well today, like I did just a few short weeks ago I come here to celebrate the birth of a child. A few weeks ago we said happy birthday to our oldest daughter. Today, we celebrate the birthday of our youngest, Lauren, and just as I did for our daughter Heidi, I’ll share the birthday prayer.

Friends, every day is a day to celebrate children, not just on their birthdays. Yes, of course, we recognize their birthdays, however, this precious gift of children, enjoy them, love them, and help them grow every day, regardless of their age.

So, today, I say Happy Birthday to our daughter Lauren, and all of the children, young and old, having a special day today. May it be filled with happiness, love, laughter, and your favorite cake too 🙂

For you Lauren, I hope you can hear Captain Patten saying this from Heaven.

The Birthday Prayer
Watch over thy child, O Lord, as her days increase; bless and guide her wherever she may be. Strengthen her when she stands; comfort her when discouraged or sorrowful; raise her up if she fall; and in her heart may thy peace which passeth understanding abide all the days of her life; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Have a great day friends!

Psalm 127:3
Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb, a reward.
