Turn Into It

I got up in the middle of the night last night, too much water drank before I went to bed, you get the idea, 🙂 . Anyway, yes I padded off to the bathroom, and just as I stepped onto our tile floor from the carpet a major cramp grabbed hold of my foot. You know one of those that makes your toes curl. Yes, it was a doozy.

I struggled for what seemed like hours, not really but I struggled for quite a bit to get my foot to relax. It was actually painful at one point, nothing seemed to work. Finally, I sat down and actually said out loud, “Lord please take this pain from me, help me to relax”. I heard something at that point, “Turn Into It”. I turned my foot in the direction that it was cramping and instantly it relaxed. No joke, not kidding, like instantly the muscle relaxed and the pain was gone.

It’s not a new thing for me to get a cramp here or there. I know how to move and stretch to get them to relax but last night nothing seemed to work. I would never have thought to turn into the pain, turn into the direction of the cramping muscle. Normally I’m stretching the muscle in the opposite direction.

Okay, by now, you are wondering what the heck I’m talking about with this whole situation. Well, once that foot relaxed last night, I made a point to jot down those words: “Turn into it.” I think it’s the message Father wanted me to share. Maybe it’s a bit of a stretch, but it was a pretty clear message from Him last night.

When we go through difficulties in this life, it’s easy to turn away from the pain, to run away from the problem, to bury it as if it’s not there. Newsflash, it probably isn’t going to just go away. We must face our problems, our challenges and make our way through them. The good news is, we don’t have to do it alone. Jesus is right there next to us, holding us up, giving us strength, telling us to “Turn into it, I’m here with you”.

So yes, the next time I’m faced with one of those irritating and painful cramps or situations, I’ll remember the words I heard last night, “Turn into it”. I’ll do my best to face it head-on, to turn into the pain or the challenge, face it, ask the Lord to help and I’ll make my way through. I’m betting I’ll be stronger, and dare I say more relaxed on the other side of it.

Have a good day my friends. As a side note, I’m going to take a break from the little blog tomorrow as my husband and I spend some time with a friend. I’ll be back on Sunday though.

Also, photo credit goes to Jennifer Jager-Broy, for the cover of today’s little blog. She posted it on our local weather page from Arcadia, FL last night, what a beautiful sky!

Matthew 28:20
Teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.
