You all know that I start and end my day usually sitting on my lanai, (Florida term for patio), chatting with Father. Beginning and ending my day with Him gives me the opportunity to ask for help to be the best I can as the day starts and to give thanks for the many ways He blessed me as it ends.
This morning as I sat down outside I almost immediately noticed how quiet it was. As I said “Good morning Father”, I heard, “Listen to the quiet”. I stopped and did just that. My goodness, it was quiet this morning, and you know what, it was really nice. I felt a peace just settle in. I guess I didn’t realize how much I needed to feel that until it happened. Like so many of you, my brain is usually going 100 miles an hour once I’m up, but this morning, I was able to just clear that and listen to the quiet for a bit.
Our daily time with our Lord is so important. Personal time with Him to share our cares, give Him our pain, and celebrate our joy, well it’s priceless time. Too often though I feel, at least for me, like I’m cheating Him on my time. Yes, I make time for Him each morning and evening, however, there are days when it’s not quality time. Mornings like this morning remind me that I need to be more in that moment and focused on Him. I need to listen more to the quiet and settle into quality time with the one who loves me more than my mind can understand.
This morning friends, take just a little bit of time to listen to the quiet. Clear your mind and allow it, along with your heart to open to feel Father move within you. In that quiet, may you find the peace that I did this morning, and may that peace fill your day 🙂 .
Continued prayers my friends for those in Western, NC, and those in California, and prayers lifted for our sweet Emily Rea that she may be found.
