Change Is Good

I’ve heard this tons of times, change is a good thing. I guess I believe that for the most part. I mean if we stayed stagnant and didn’t change, well we’d be pretty dull people 🙂 . When I think about change I understand that there may be times when it’s uncomfortable leaving us uncertain on how to respond to it. At the end of the day I believe change happens for a reason, I believe that Father wants us to grow, and bringing changes into our lives is a way of doing that.

So, why all this talk of change this morning? Well, it’s been on my mind because…wait for it…my husband and I are remodeling some rooms in our home 🙂 . Ugh, it’s been fun preparing for that, she says sarcastically. This process has forced us to clean out things, assess whether we need certain things, better yet, wonder how we’ve collected so much stuff only being here five years! Yes, right now we are in a state of flux, we’re in the midst of change, and it’s ok.

The other thing I’m being forced to do is really prioritize right now. I have to make time to be at home and get things prepped. I’ve had to make some difficult decisions to not do some things and focus where I need to focus right now. That is difficult for me sometimes because I want to say yes to everything.

Friends, in this life change will come, there is no preventing it. The question is, how will we handle them when they do happen? We can bury our heads in the sand and hope they just go away or we can face changes head on and take them as opportunities to grow. We can take the opportunity to assess ourselves, to understand how we might do things differently, or do different things depending on what has been thrown at us.

At the end of the day, I have faith in us, children of God. We are resilient, we are strong, and most importantly we have Father and His Son with us through whatever change we face. As change occurs, draw on faith knowing that our Lord is right there beside you.

Have a great day friends, I’m off to unload another cabinet 🙂 . Yes, change is good, (I’ll keep telling myself that)!

Romans 12:2
Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.
