Share Me

This morning I noticed something that I don’t normally see and I’m not sure why. I looked up from the lanai and noticed an incredible amount of stars. They were twinkling off in the distance and the more I looked the brighter they seemed to get. I couldn’t help but think of the verses from the book of Genesis about the story of creation, “And God made the two great lights-the greater light to rule the day and the lesser light to rule the night-and the stars”. This world is truly an amazing creation and gift from Father.

As I looked at those stars and asked my usual question of Him, “Lord what can I share for you in the little blog this morning”, the response came, “Share me”. It’s funny, I actually said out loud, “Well that’s pretty simple”. You don’t have to look far to see Father in everything around us. The stars and moon, the beautiful sunshine, flowers coming up through the winter snow, a stunning sunrise or sunset, yes, He is everywhere.

Last night, my husband and I stopped at one of our favorite burger spots. This particular place has its own ice cream shop as well—bonus! As we were finishing our meal, I noticed several couples sitting at tables outside. Some were enjoying dinner, but I particularly noticed a table of two older couples enjoying ice cream. The look on their faces made me smile. It reminded me of simpler times when going to get ice cream was just what you did.

A little later as we were leaving the restaurant, um after we strolled past the ice cream cases to take a peek, (not for me, for the hubs), a couple was leaving in front of us. The man was in a wheelchair being pushed by a caregiver I guessed, the wife was holding the door. We followed them out and they were parked not far from us. As my husband and I got into the car I noticed the caregiver, a younger man pretty stalky, lifted the older gentleman into the front seat of their car. I commented to my husband how special caregivers are. He agreed. It made my heart happy to see this younger gentleman sharing his skills and his gift of caring with others.

This morning as I heard Father respond to “Share me”, these two situations came to mind, well in addition to seeing the beautiful stars. You see in just a short window of time, I recognized our Lord in our midst. It’s actually pretty easy to see Him in action, and even easier to share His love with others. He is all around us, we just need to take a moment to recognize Him in our midst. The simple enjoyment of ice cream, the caring touch of another, and yes the twinkling stars above, these moments my friends are just a few when God is in our midst.

Have a wonderful day everyone, take a moment to look around and notice just how close God is to you this morning. Then, share that moment, share Him with those you meet 🙂 .
