I’ve been following the nasty storms that have made their way through the Midwest and Southeast these past few days. Many friends were awakened by tornado sirens in the wee hours of Saturday morning, taking shelter in basements and interior rooms of their homes. Thankfully family and friends are safe.
The damage and loss of life through MO, MS, and AR are horrible, and there is still uncertain weather in the forecast yet today. I’ve been lifting prayers for everyone affected by these storms asking Father to give strength to those who have lost their homes or have lost loved ones. As we all know, homes can be replaced, belongings can be replaced, loved ones are gone from this world until we see them again.
The storms that come through our lives test our faith. Sometimes we wonder why Father would allow bad things to happen. I’ve been there and have had those moments myself, and trust me the answer to that question is above my pay grade. However I know this, the Lord does not wish bad things on His children. He loves us more than we can even fathom and He is here to carry us through those difficult times.
Through the storms of this life, we find incredible stories. Strangers who come together to help each other. People from across this great nation rally to the support of fellow Americans. The love of Christ pours out in so many ways through His children.
I’ve said many times before that God never promised this life would be easy, however, He did promise to be with us always. In those difficult times, through whatever storm will come, let us be reminded that His love is always here to lift us, comfort us, and give us strength to begin anew.
Please, friends, lift prayers for those affected by the storms through the Midwest and Southeast. May they find comfort and strength in the love of our Lord and support from their fellow Americans.
Matthew 8:26
And He said to them, “Why are you afraid, O you of little faith?” Then He rose and rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great calm.
