Yesterday in this little blog I talked about our lives belonging to Father, that this life is about Him not about me. This life is a gift and all the things we share while here, also…gifts from God. Those include family and friends.
At the end of yesterday’s little blog, I encouraged everyone to get out and enjoy those gifts that Father has freely given to us. Well, I took my own advice 🙂 . It was a nice afternoon with a little mix of Saturday chores and spending time with friends.
I had coffee with a long-time friend, something I haven’t done in who knows how long. We were able to catch up after not seeing each other for over a year, and before we knew it an hour and a half had passed. Then, spent time with neighbor friends for a little nosh and beverage on the lanai in the gorgeous afternoon. We were also able to catch up, (since we’ve been away from our place during our remodeling project). It was a day nurturing the gift of friendship.
Meanwhile, while I was gone, my husband had an afternoon to catch up on his personal to-do list. He didn’t have to worry about me wanting to get this done or that, go here or there, etc. He too enjoyed a gift from Father, the gift of a little alone time 🙂 .
I realized this morning while typing this little blog how truly blessed I am. When I look at the challenges I face in this life, I have to ask myself “Are they?”. Father brings us through every situation, even though it may not be the way we had hoped, He brings us through, stronger and able to face the next. Through it all I believe He repeatedly shows us the blessings and gifts He brings to us, we just forget about them.
So friends, if you didn’t get a chance to enjoy a Saturday afternoon enjoying the gifts that Father has provided, well, give it another try today. It’s Sunday, His day, so why not spend it thanking Him by enjoying and cherishing His gifts 🙂 .
Have a good day my friends, continued prayers lifted for our sweet Emily Rea’s return.
1 Peter 4:10
As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace.
