I feel pretty blessed for many, many reasons. I’ve got a wonderful husband, beautiful kids, grandkids, and friends that have become like family. I get to live in what we call paradise, and most importantly, I’m blessed with a loving relationship with Father. When I think about His children who don’t know Him, who don’t seek Him, I feel sad. I think about people who may not believe in life everlasting, and that too makes me sad. I can’t imagine thinking that once we take our last breath here, that’s it, poof gone. Going down that path though, well that is for another little blog on a different day.
This morning as I had my talk with Father, I asked not only what message could I share for Him, I asked, “What can I share that will make you happy?”. What I heard was, “I’m happy when my children seek me. I’m happy when my children understand my power, when they trust me”. That was a little more of a response than the typical word that comes to me 🙂 .
I had to think though after hearing those words, do we really understand what makes Father happy? Sometimes I think I have to do everything perfectly, stay in line so to speak in order to please God. I don’t believe that is His expectation. Yes, there are the simple ten rules that He asks us to follow, and they are pretty simple that is no doubt. However, He knows my faults, and more importantly, He knows my heart.
So no, we don’t have to be perfect in this life, there was only one among us who was, and Father just happened to send Him to pay the price for the rest of our imperfections. Father wants us to seek Him, to understand the power He has to make things right, to understand that trust and faith in Him will help us overcome anything.
Friends, let’s not overthink this relationship we can have with the Lord. Let’s live into it fully, giving Him all that we have, good, bad, and ugly. Newsflash…He knows it all already 🙂 . Trust in Him, work to please Him each day by sharing His love and opening your heart to what He calls us to do.
Take a moment as you begin your day to just ask Him, “What can I do today Lord that will make you happy?”. And then…listen for the answer.
Have a great day friends, continued prayers for the return of sweet Emily Rea.
