Well is that an interesting title to this little blog this morning? It came to me as I was having my morning chat with Father. You all know that there are many a morning when I ask Him for guidance on what to share here. This morning as I asked my usual question of what I could share I heard nothing. No, I mean I didn’t feel a response like I usually do. I heard the crickets chirping in the early morning and I listened to the still that was. I really didn’t hear anything else. Nothing. And then…I felt the message clearly, “The beauty of nothing”. Ahh…thank you as always Father for your message.
Sometimes it’s ok to feel, hear, do…nothing. We’ve all said it at some point, when asked, “What’s wrong”, we respond, “Nothing”. When asked, “What are you doing”, we respond, “Nothing”. “Did you hear that”, “I didn’t hear anything”. Yep, sometimes nothing is ok.
I believe there are times when the Lord wishes we would do, say, or feel nothing. When we find ourselves hurt by another, rather than lash out Father might be asking us to say nothing initially, rather to step into Him for healing. Those times when we think we have all the answers, He wishes we would do nothing, but come to Him in prayer for guidance. Those times when we feel lost and alone, rather than diving into sin for acceptance, He wishes we would do nothing but sit and surrender to Him, to be held and loved.
We humans have a way of stepping into it sometimes. In our zeal to fix, control, or even avoid situations we tend to overdo when in reality, we should do nothing. Nothing that is except turn to Jesus. He can turn the nothing into something every time. He turns darkness into light. He can turn bad to good. He makes all things new again 🙂 .
So friends, whatever challenges you might be facing in your life, take a moment to do nothing. Sit quietly, surrender it to our Lord, and then let yourself be open to the love and guidance that only He can give. Let yourself experience the beauty of nothing.
Have a good day friends 🙂 .
Romans 12:2
Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.
