Today is the Day

It really is you know. Today is the day for…whatever God wants you to do. This morning as I was thinking about this little blog and asking for guidance on what to share I realized that today is another new day. Father made us to rise to see another sunrise. He will bring people into our lives to interact with, He will give us opportunities to share the love He shows us and we’ll have the chance to say “Thank you Lord for the gift of this day”.

We all have good days and bad days, but as I think about the bad ones, are they really? I think much of it depends on my outlook. If I head into the day thinking it’s going to be a challenge or dread what I have to do, then it’s a pretty safe bet that the day isn’t going to be in my top ten. However, if I can get my head in the game, start the day with what I said above, knowing that today is a day of opportunity to learn and grow more in my relationship with Father, well that makes all the difference.

So yes friends, the Lord has given us the gift of another day. He gave us life to live, sunrises to see, laughter to share, and unconditional love to wrap ourselves in. Let’s accept the gift willingly and gratefully and in return give thanks by doing the work He calls us to do.

Today is the day to say hi to a stranger. Today is the day to do that one task you’ve been putting off. Today is the day to tell your spouse you love them just because. Today is the day to take your kid to school rather than put them on the school bus. Today is the day to enjoy that one extra cup of coffee. Today is the day to call a friend you haven’t talked to in forever. Today is the day to just give thanks for all those things you have the opportunity to do. Today is the day to say, “Jesus, thank you for giving your life for me”.

You see friends, it’s all about how we look at it. Today is the day. Let’s make it count. Have a good one, and please continue to lift prayers for sweet Emily Rea’s return.

Psalm 118:24
This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.
