I took a break from this little blog yesterday to enjoy a day off. Holy week was a very busy one, culminating in a glorious Easter. We were all clean tuckered out you might say. I spent yesterday with some sun and salt water therapy, trust me I highly recommend it.
We’ve moved into the 50 days of Easter, when we celebrate the time that Jesus was on the earth following the resurrection, yet before He ascends to Heaven. The time when he made it known to his followers that He had indeed risen from the dead. The time that He proved that He was indeed there with them. He made it known that He would always be with them and that one day they would all be together again.
Yesterday, I experienced several times when I knew that Jesus was with me. I could feel it. It was just little things that happened, but yet it was so clear that He was there in the midst. The joy that I felt when these little things occurred is hard to explain. It was a peaceful joy, and knowing that Jesus was so close just made me smile.
This morning as I think about those first 50 days of Easter I can only imagine how the disciples felt having Jesus with them. Their feelings of despair on Good Friday turned to utter joy as He returns to them just as He promised. Over those 50 days He does final preparation with them to truly take over His ministry before He ascends to Heaven. They are renewed and ready to do His work.
Friends, Jesus is with us each day, just as he promised He would be. There are days when we feel his presence more than others, however, I think that is our doing not His. I think He wants us to feel Him close all the time, just like I did yesterday. I got to the point where I was looking for Him in my midst yesterday, I need to do that every day. I think I’ll find that…yep…He is right there 🙂 .
So yes, look for Jesus in your midst today. When you feel Him there, bask in the joy that His presence brings, and then…let’s roll up our sleeves to do His work as He asked.
Have a great day friends, please continue to lift prayers for sweet Emily Rea’s return.
Matthew 28:19-20
Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.
