On Sundays before heading to church, I like to take a little time to give thanks for the week ahead and a new beginning. Of course each day is a new day and filled with opportunities, but Sundays are kind of the reset I guess you could say.

This morning I found a prayer that made me think more about giving the week to Father before it even starts. I usually find myself asking the Lord to guide my steps and help me to do His will, but this prayer goes beyond, and turns the week over to Him before it even starts. I thought I would share this simple prayer with you all this morning in hopes that we may all surrender the week ahead and let Father do what He does best, love and guide us.

Heavenly Father, I place this coming week into Your hands, trusting in Your perfect plan for my life. As I stand at the beginning of a new week, I surrender every worry, every task and every challenge to You. I know that You hold all things together and that nothing escapes Your notice. Grant me peace as I face the unknown, knowing that You go before me and prepare the way.

Help me to rely on Your strength rather than my own, and remind me that in all things, You are working for my good. I trust in Your wisdom, Your provision, and Your timing for every situation I will encounter. Be glorified in my life as I follow Your lead this week. In Jesus Christ’s Holy name I pray, Amen.
