Home Sweet Home

Well, exactly three months later, we are finally back home in our place. As with all construction or remodeling, things took longer than planned, but I’m telling myself not to focus on the length of time but instead to enjoy being back in our home.

It was late last night when we moved the last of our things back in so we are nowhere near settled. We’ve been gone long enough that I had to remember where to put some things.

I didn’t realize until I crawled into my own bed last night, how much I missed it. This morning as I type this all I can do is say a prayer of thanks to Father. We have a home, a warm bed, a place where we feel safe. There are many in this country who do not. I think of those in North Carolina who slept in a tent through the winter because their home was washed away, and in some cases, loved ones with it. I think of those in California whose homes were burned to the ground and everything they own with it. I think of those in Mississippi who lost their homes earlier this year to a tornado. Yes, this morning I give a prayer of thanks and a prayer for those without a safe place to call home.

Friends, I ask you to simply do the same this morning. Stop and take a moment to give thanks for the blessings in your life and offer a prayer for those who do not have a place to call home. Say a prayer that Father may shower them with warmth and comfort, and may bring them to a new home soon. Every one of Father’s children should have a warm, safe place to call home.

I’m going to take the weekend off from this little blog. The to-do list around here is quite lengthy πŸ™‚ . Thanks as always for your wonderful support of my daily ramblings. I wish you an awesome weekend πŸ™‚ .

My people will abide in a peaceful habitation, in secure dwellings, and in quiet resting places.
