I had friends traveling all over yesterday. They were in Connecticut, South Carolina, Ohio, and everywhere in between. During our text conversation last night, they were all trying to make it home. The storms in the Midwest and Ohio Valley were awful. Flights were delayed at every turn. It was well after midnight before everyone was home safely. I thank Father this morning that they are.
Unfortunately, there are many this morning waking up to devastation. London, Kentucky, was one of the hardest hit areas, with nine fatalities reported so far and many more injured. From the photos I’ve seen, entire neighborhoods are destroyed.
This morning, friends, please lift prayers for all those affected by last night’s storms. Those who have lost loved ones, homes, and belongings. Pray for the rescue workers, disaster recovery teams, and linemen working nonstop to help those who have lost so much.
You know what I have said so often, friends, when a multitude of prayers are lifted to Father, I believe He notices 🙂 . Let us lift prayers for those in so much need this morning. Even if you cannot be on the ground to help physically, you can always help by lifting prayer, and continue to do so in the days ahead. These areas will need support for a long time to come.
Heavenly Father, please be with all your children affected by the storms last night. Please wrap your loving arms around those who have lost loved ones. Be with the doctors treating those who are injured. Protect the rescue workers and linemen, and give strength to those who have lost so much. Bring peace and comfort to these communities, and rally your children to lift each other with support. Help us, Father, your children, to help your children. In Jesus Christ’s Holy name we pray, Father, Amen.
