Yesterday morning, I got up with a plan. As I was finishing this little blog, I told my husband about the errands I hoped we could run. Oh, and it just so happened that we could stop for breakfast, and it was on the way :-). So, after wrapping up my ramblings here, we headed out and knocked everything off the list. I felt good when we got back home and found that things were going as I had planned.
We still have some things we are trying to get back together in the house, we’re finding that as we are putting stuff back, we’re also taking the opportunity to purge. You all know how that goes…before you know it you’ve taken everything out of your closet! Well, you get the idea.
Anyway… I hoped to get about an hour in at the pool before I tackled the next thing on my list. I changed, grabbed my towel, kissed the hubs, and out the door, I ran. One of my neighbors was at the pool and we chatted as I dropped myself onto a float and glanced at the clock. She was filling me in on the latest around the community while we were gone, including a recent issue she had at her condo. Seams a swarm of bees had taken up residence in the outside corner of her roof. OY….she shared how the company came out and removed them, it was a fascinating story to hear.
As we were talking I could hear some men not far from us chatting. It sounded like workers doing something but I couldn’t tell just what. It was coming from the condo right next to the pool. Not long after, the owner of that unit came into the pool area and wanted us to know that a beekeeper had come to his place to help remove…you guessed it, another hive of bees. “The gentleman wants you both to know what he’s doing and to be alert in case the bees become aggressive”. I made my way to the end of the pool and looked up at the roof to see the man all dressed in bee garb beginning his work. OY… I say again! Well, sure enough, the bees did what they do, went into protection mode, they were not happy. It didn’t take long for the beekeeper to yell over to us that we needed to leave as the bees were becoming very aggressive. Well, he only had to ask once.
As I headed back home, I was bummed. All I wanted to do was spend a little time relaxing, and soak up some vitamin D. I wandered back into the house and explained what had happened to my husband. I changed and got to work on the to-do list. And…yes, before I knew it, the entire closet was emptied 🙂 .
My husband and I finished several hours later. We looked around and were happy with checking off so many things from the list. I realized then that if I had stayed at the pool, I probably would have kicked myself later. I was glad I came back and maybe that was Father’s little nudge to stay the path I had plotted for the day.
Sometimes things don’t go as we plan. The question is, are they going according to God’s plan? The more we lean into our Lord, the more we grow in our relationship with Him, I think His plan for us becomes clearer. It’s up to us to continue to seek His guidance and ask for the path ahead to be lit as we walk it. He won’t let us down.
Have a great day friends, continued prayers for sweet Emily Rea’s return.
